Tower - The pure free fall ride

The SCAD Tower is an unique new development in the field of
thrill rides. It offers an extraordinary ride experience.
It is the first ride in the world, that offers a controlled
and unattached free fall. Four main columns provide the tower
with a steep pyramid shape, requiring very little ground space
and small foundations. The columns are braced on the outside,
leaving free space inside the tower. |

A
winch at the top lifts the landing device (SCAD), a double
net with airtubes, 40 feet up inside the tower. An outside
staircase with multi level panoramic view platforms (model
STor ST2) allows high customer capacities. The basic model
(LT) without stairs has a central elevator, which is combined
with the SCAD. The mobile tower (LTM) requires a truck for
transportation and three hours set up time.

All
passengers access the release level either by staircase
or the elevator. Participants put on an easy-to-dress free
fall harness (CFF), while waiting to enter the release position.
The participants are then seated one-by-one in a comfortable
and secure position, which can not be changed during free
fall. The operator activates the release system and the
person starts a real unattached free fall for 66 ft.

The
customer lands without any impact in the 300 square foot
SCAD. After landing the SCAD is automatically lowered to
the ground and the customer exits by himself. The free fall
feeling is more intense, then any other simulation or free
fall drop ride, due to the avoidence of disturbing attachments.
The tower is completely dismantable and powered by a high
capacity motor winch system, certified for personal transportation.
It is additionally equipped with a remote control and modern
intercom system.

The
tower has lights for night operation. Sound, colour light
and video systems are optional. The multi ride tower model
(MT) is equipped with a cable slide and a jump swing system.
All parts of the tower are manufactured with high quality,
according to DIN 4112, the stringent official German standard
for "Moving Overhead Structures". The SCAD system is
type approved by the German technical control board TÜV.
